Team Magic E4RS II Evo on the podium of 2014-15 ART Winter Cup round 1 @ Münsigen

The first round of 2014-15 ART Winter Cup at Münsigen was dominated by local hero André Krebs, but was not so bad for the Team Magic drivers, with a podium performance of Stephan Eschler.

Both Stefan Eschler and Marco Balmer acceded to the A-final with their Team Magic E4RS II Evo, while Jordy Dubuis only obtained the 7th time of qualification due to very unperfect qualifying groups distribution, which result in B-final pole position.

Just a few words about Jordy Dubuis:

Jordy Dubuis, which is the only driver in Switzerland to obtain a podium at every races he participated at Münsingen since two years had to accept to be victim of multiple accidents by qualifying run. We calculated that he lost 10 seconds (one complete lap) on his best run and 18 seconds on his second run, which normally represent a second or third place on the grid. Marco Stettler who was in the same group had exactly the same problems, but had the “chance” to qualify him in the A-final at the 6th and last place, just a few in front of Jordy.

But that’s ok, this is racing… we have to accept that in some case groups distribution are a recompense for drivers who participated to the entire championship the previous year.

Just to be clear: all the other drivers on the group of Jordy have been perfectly fair play during the qualification; we really don’t blame them and we thanks them for the effort they do to try to let Marco, Jordy and Andreas driving the best possible. But the difference of level is too huge to allow a driver to run normally in this kind of group; it was unpleasant for Marco Stettler, Andreas Ebener and Jordy Dubuis, who had to slalom between other cars and multiples crashes, but also very unpleasant for the three other drivers who was extremely stressed and solicited by the 3 faster ones !
