Our Team HRC / TM driver, Rob Janssen, wins the second round of AMCA Club Race at Apeldoorn (Netherland), with his Team Magic E4RS III.
Rob is still discovering a bit the E4RS III setting keys, and used ETS setup of Léo Arnold as basis for his race.
Race report from Rob:
Last weekend we had our second local race, for me the first time on my local track with the new TM E4RS III car. I started with Leo set-up from last ETS in Luxemburg. It was a pretty good start immediately !
The only difference is that I drove it with standard top deck and the 2.3mm chassis instead of the 2.5 chassis or double top deck used by Léo.
At the end of the evening I filled in my set-up sheet and found out I only changed the rear toe-in angle a little bit and went back to slightly thinner diff oil (5000 instead of 7000). As far as I know the only changes made.
I was able to drive a good TQ run and in the finals I was able to do laptimes i didn’t make at my local club for a long time.
My personal record is a 15.6 at an ETS (= high grip) maybe 4 years ago. My last races I was able to do low 16 (like 16.2 etc.)
In the finals i was able to do 16.0 laps (tires already used by 3 qualifications). So i was pretty happy as I felt I could get more out of it next time, for sure with new tires !
Maybe next time the 2.5mm chassis will make a positive difference as well to make it even faster.
