Team Magic Europe / HRC Racing just comes back from ETS 2016 round 2 in Germany, and it’s time to learn about the results and drivers feedbacks.
The organization was just amazing, they operated a carpet change in less than 2 hours (first carpet was “wrong”, and grip was really bad), simply awesome ! For sure, ETS will probably stay the best organized events for a while.
The Team Magic E4RS III+ showed great performances, in the hands of our 4 official drivers, Patrick Gassauer, Philipp Walleser and Thorsten Lewandowski in ProStock, and Cyril N’Diaye in Modified, and two privateers. Cars and drivers was performing, but unfortunately other cars and drivers was performing too !
Cyril N’Diaye: with some mistakes – even small – in all qualifications, Cyril obtained an unexpected 10th place in C-final without any mistake-free runs. So, this was satisfying for him. First final run, Cyril has been hardly pushed out the track by JJ (who have probably to learn a bit about racing comportment) and finished 7th. In the second run, more safe, Cyril finished 4th, and obtained the overal 26th place.
Maybe someones could thing “only 26th”, but when we read the names in B-main, C-main, or D-main… 26th is really a good result, and just a place better than Naoto – World Champion – who finished overall 27th !
Patrick Gassauer: like Cyril, Patrick didn’t had mistake-free runs, and lost one run in a small crash. Considering that, his 7th place in B-Main is more than satisfiying. During the finals, Patrick broke a part in the first run, and obtained an overall 19th place.
Philipp Walleser: he just missed the B-Main for “nothing”, as Philipp was at equality of points with Valentin Hettrich who obtained the last place in B. Phillip made very nice laps, and good runs. During the finales, Philipp made a mistake in the first run that costed him the B-main win. A 22th place is really not bat at this level, and for sure he will continue to improve his driving skills in the future.
Thorsten Lewandowski: he suffered of qualification difficulties in a lower group. His laptimes was really not bad, but at this level a driver needs mistake-free runs to obtain a good place in the grid. So, he was qualified 63th, and finished 66th. We can say “bad luck”, and look forward for better place in the near future, as his driving skills for sure deserve better places.
Next races: as usual, we will make our best for the next races. It’s for sure more easy to place 2 or 3 cars in the A-main for a team who has professional drivers and more than 60 drivers/cars in the pits, but we do all our best. We are a small team without stars and we continue to progress.
Enlarging the team is also a target, we need drivers in many countries, but it takes time. Of course, inquiries are still welcome.
