Ich freute mich auf das erste Rennen der Outdoor Saison. Die beiden Trainings vor dem Rennen sind vielversprechend verlaufen. Ich kam von Anfang an auch auf der Piste in Chiasso gut zu recht. Immerhin kann ich ab jetzt auf die Setuperfahrungen des Vorjahres zurückgreifen. Schon bald versuchte ich im Training, ob das Auto auch hier mit dem Shorty funktionierte. Das Pistenlayout ist nicht so, dass die Gewichtsverteilung mit dem Shorty grosse Vorteile bringen sollte, doch fühlte sich das Auto sehr wendig an und mir fiel es einfacher, die gewünschte Linie zu fahren. So konnte ich meine Runden mit viel Vertrauen und Sicherheit drehen und sehr konstante Rundenzeiten fahren.
Dieser Umstand half mir, meine Konkurrenten, die das gleiche Speedniveau hatten, in Schach zu halten, wenn auch knapp. Carl Friedrich Grössel und Michele Manzo waren etwas schneller als ich und meine beiden direkten Konkurrenten. Bereits in den Vorläufe war es sehr knapp zwischen Fabian Widmer, Patrick Hofer und mir. Dank knappen Entscheidungen konnte ich vom 3. Startplatz in den Finalen losfahren. Dort gelang es mir dann in den ersten beiden Finalen den 3. Platz zu halten. Dies brachte mir auch den 3. Schlussrang ein.

Team Magic drivers Philipp Huber and Marco Balmer participated to the 5th round of Swiss Indoor Championship (SIC) at Staffelbach.
Philipp Huber obtained a nice second place, behind Carl Friedrich Grössel, while his teammate Marco Balmer finished four.

Das Team Indoortrack organisierte diesen Winter sein SIC-Rennen in Staffelbach. Die Halle war nicht so gross, so dass eine technisch anspruchsvolle Strecke ausgesteckt wurde. Das Layout war flüssig, doch erschwerte das Klebeband eine konstante Fahrweise.
Das Griffniveau stieg rasch, mein Auto fühlte sich gut an. Das Basissetup für den ETS-Teppich konnte ich den Bedingungen anpassen. Leichte Anpassungen bei den Federn, Vorspur und Flex führten zu den erhofften Verbesserungen.
Leider waren nur 5 Fahrer in der Klasse Modified am Start. Die Positionen waren bald bezogen, leider war ich deutlich langsamer als die schnellsten Zwei und belegte nach der Quali den 3. Platz.
In den Finalen konnte ich von zwei Ausfällen von Antonino profitieren und schlussendlich den 2. Platz einfahren.
In der SIC Gesamtwertung erreichte ich ebenfalls den 2. Schlussrang.
Nun freue ich mich auf die Outdoor Saison.
