TRIPLE WIN for TM E4RS4 at the MRC Cup round 3 at Vianen !!

Original report from Rob Janssen:

Last weekend we had the 3rd race of the popular indoor series of MRC Vianen. As usual they did a good job in hosting the race, this time also including some soup and bread for lunch for all drivers!

There is one rule in this race series I don’t really like and that is that everybody can drive the tires they want. Most of the times I try to run on Volante tires as most other races are on that one. Last time it was very difficult to fight for the top spot as some guys were doing some good times on Sorex tires. So for this time I also started on Sorex tires. But I found out quickly that was not good for me and not working with the set-up I used to drive. So after qualifying 2nd spot I went back to my well known Volante tires before the finals.

In the opening lap I noticed I really liked the handling of the car and felt confident to start the 1st final. I was able to stay really close to Robert Krens on his Sorex tires and had to held back some corners as the cornerspeed on Volante is much higher. But as on a tight track passing is very difficult I couldn’t make a move. Eventually he drove away a little. When I was able to close the gap a little Robert got issues with his sensor wire and had to retire. So I won the first final with no real pressure from behind. Jari did a good job this final by coming in 2nd closely followed by Ronald on 3rd. For me I drove a new personal best laptime, a 10.6 lap. In qualification I did 10.8 on Sorex tires. Last race with the ‘old’ car I also did 10.8 laps.

The second final I again was able to stay close to Robert but again couldn’t make a good move. After a few laps we started to overtake the rear of the field and I found myself hitting a slower car which costed me the connection to Robert. I came in 2nd.

The 3rd final I was close to Robert the first few laps but then he started to pull away a little. In the middle of the race I came back a little but before really coming back to him he rolled over his car so I was now in front. Coming back on 4 wheels Robert noticed his spur gear was broken so he couldn’t come after me anymore.

Overall I won the race and was really happy with the handling of the new car on the aluminium chassis ! With Ronald and Jari completing the podium it was an all TM podium which felt really good!

TRIPLE WIN for TM E4RS4 at the MRC Cup round 3 at Vianen !!

Original report from André vd Wal (Jari’s father):

With about 70 drivers and 5 classes with 23 drivers in the stock class (17.5T) it promised to be a long day.

Just one week before the race we received  the aluminum chassis for the E4RS4, we could not test it so it was a guess which setup we should  use. We decided to use the NK setup from Rob Janssen, and  it worked straight away.

After a little setup adjustment we decided to change nothing more, the car was awesome. Jari was  qualified 4th and drove a good 1st final, he became second after Rob Janssen.

In the second final Jari drove on average a better time but finished 3th after Robert and Rob.

In the 3rd final by some unfortunate circumstances, Jari got 7th place. Anyway the best two finals count so overall 3rd. It was a good racing day for Team TM the Netherlands  with 4 E4RS4 cars in A main and a full TM podium. Congrats to Rob, Ronald and Richard.

Philipp Huber and Renato Isler – TM E4RS4 – on the podium at TIT Cup Rd 2 in Schöftland

Past week-end was the second round of TIT Cup at Schöfltand (Switzerland).

Philipp Huber and Renato Isler - TM E4RS4 - on the podium at TIT Cup Rd 2 in Schöftland

TM drivers Philipp Huber and Renato Isler participated this race and finished on second and third place behind Roberto Alessandrelli; while Thomas Raiman wins the B-finale.

Philipp Huber and Renato Isler - TM E4RS4 - on the podium at TIT Cup Rd 2 in Schöftland

Philipp Huber and Renato Isler - TM E4RS4 - on the podium at TIT Cup Rd 2 in Schöftland

Original report from Renato Isler (German):

Am vergangenen Sonntag fand der 2. TIT Cup Lauf in Schöftland statt.

Philipp Huber and Renato Isler - TM E4RS4 - on the podium at TIT Cup Rd 2 in Schöftland

Rob Janssen / TM E4RS4 finished third at the Dutch National Championship @ Limburg

Last week-end was a indoor Dutch National Championship race at Limburg.

Rob Janssen / TM E4RS4 finished third at the Dutch National Championship @ Limburg

Rob Janssen and the Arts-brothers participated this race, and finished all in A-finale, with a third place on the podium for Rob.

Nice Job !

Original report from Rob Janssen:

On Friday night we went there and could spend the night in a house on a holiday resort the brothers Arts had booked for us all. On Saturday morning we went to the track of Racing Arena Limburg and started testing. I mounted the new aluminium chassis under the E4RS4 car. After 2 batteries I was doing the laptimes I ended a few weeks before with the III+ car. So that was a good start. After that I could improve the car a little in laptimes but most improved in drivability for a consistent 7 minute run we had to do on Sunday.

Sunday morning we started with qualifications. Soon I found out the competition was high as John Ermen (ENS A finalist) and Nicolas Delise were doing similar times as I did. In the first run I was in the lead the first few minutes but by hitting a slower car it costed me to much time to keep up the first place. I ended up on 3rd spot. Same for run 2, also a 3rd place. This time with a little bigger gap to the 2 guys in front of me. It felt like driving a little on my own as the 2 guys in front were just a little to quick for me, but from the back I had no real competition from someone to fight for 3rd sport with me. So after all I did finish the day in 3rd spot.

This was the first time indoor with the new car. It felt pretty good and had a good drivability ! But the 2 guys in front were just a little to quick for me, so some improvements in driving and setting-up the car for next time needs to be done for sure 😉

Rob Janssen / TM E4RS4 finished third at the Dutch National Championship @ Limburg

Original report from Richard Arts:

Past weekend we had the first NK indoor race in Racing Arena Limburg. Starting the training on Saturday with the setup we tested a couple of weeks earlier. Things started quite OK for me. However Ronald was still struggling with traction rolling from mid till end of the turn. For myself I was quite happy with my setup, so Ronald tried it as well.  It was a bit better for him also but still to much “on the edge”.

Switching to the race tires to rub them in, these felt completely different, so we were a bit confused what to do.

On Sunday the qualifying went OK, but not great. Some small mistakes like traction rolling after driving a dot or curb, cost some time, but not really positions. During the quali’s the traction had gone up quite a bit, so we were struggling to keep the car on 4 wheels.

The first couple of minutes were really tricky, but then the car seemed to settle down, and we could keep a steady pace but still needed to be careful.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t really battle for position during the finals. In the end Ronald ended up in 6th place and I was 8th.

Overall results:

Philipp Huber / TM E4RS4 wins Carper Masters round 1 @ Islikon

In Touring Car category, Philipp Huber made the three TQ runs in qualification, and wins the three final rounds, with his TM E4RS4.

Great Job !

Original report from Philipp Huber (in German / auf Deutsch):
