Pasquinel Neys / TM E4RS4 finished on 2nd place @ Lovan Fun Cup Rd1

Last week-end was the first round of the Lovan RC Fun Cup at Alveringem in Belgium. Many TM drivers participated this race.

Pasquinel Neys / TM E4RS4 finished on 2nd place @ Lovan Fun Cup Rd1

Pasquinel Neys finished on second place with his TM E4RS4, a very nice result.

Original report from Pasquinel Neys:

Last weekend I attended the first round of the Lovan RC funcup in Alveringem.

When arriving at the track on Saturday morning I was stunned about the venue. The track was huge for indoor standards and had a fun and flowing lay out. On the first practice lap it was clear that the grip still needed to come but after a couple of battery’s the car began to feel very good on the “ETS” carpet. I returned home early because the drive home was about 2 hours and I promised my lovely daughter to visit a parade in our hometown on Saturday night.

On Sunday, I left early to do some more practice laps before the start of the race. My car had enough steering for the track but I was struggling a bit with the rear of the car. After adjusting the rear of the car I was able to get the car more stable. I raised the outside of the rear camber links to get more camber change and put my rear shocks upright.

In the first qualification I felt pretty confident but looking at the timing list after the race proved me wrong.  I finished fourth after the first round of qualifying.

In the second qualification I changed to a regular speed 6 body and a somewhat special tire additive. I used green Xenon additive. My car felt faster and I gained some confidence. When I overtook a back marker I went a bit wide an hit the barriers of the track which made my front belt slip of the pulley. So qualy 2 was a DNF for me.

When seeing the lap times after the race I could see that there was an improvement after switching to the speed 6 body but this still was not enough. I noticed that I was the fastest guy on the volante tire’s but the people in front of me where riding some other tires. After a discussion about this with my teammates Lorenzo and Aron I decided I did not have the best tire choice for the event. A couple of minutes later Lorenzo popped up with an old set of Sorex 28. I asked race control if I could do some laps to feel the difference. After 2 corners I realized the Sorex tires where a big advantage. (on volante’s I drove a 15.9, My first Lap on the Sorex tires I managed a 15.3).

The last qualification would be the decider for me.  During the run my car felt awesome but I managed to roll the car in the penultimate lap which cost me 3 seconds, I would line up as third on the starting grid.

In the first final I had a good start, numbers 1 and 2 tangled up in the second corner and I could take the lead. After 5 minutes I came in first.

The second final saw the same start issues for numbers 1 and 2. I was leading the race but halfway to the race Tom Adams was putting me under a lot of pressure, I snapped and clipped a barrier. I finished second in the second final.

The third final would be the decider. I made a very good start and took over second place after a couple of laps. At that point Tom had got a big advantage over me. I pushed very hard but I was not able to catch Tom and ended up second. Tom would take the overall win and I came in second.

I would like to thank the LOVAN RC crew for their splendid race. I also would like to thank my sponsors TM, HRC distribution and R1 Wurks for the support.

Nice result Philipp !

Original report from Philipp Huber (in German only):

Das Rennen startete ziemlich gut mit zwei TQ-Läufen. Im 3. und 4. Vorlauf konnte ich zweimal den 2. Platz belegen. Dies ergab den 2. Startplatz.

Philipp Huber / TM E4RS4 finished on third place at TIT-Cup round 1 at Schöftland

Rémi Callens / TM E4RS4 wins Lovan RC Challenge round 1 in Belgium !

Last week-end was the first round of the Lovan RC Challenge in Belgium. Rémi Callens made the trip to joins the Belgian TM team.

Rémi Callens / TM E4RS4 wins Lovan RC Challenge round 1 in Belgium !

Rémi obtained the pole position and won the race in front of Hugo Ragaut and Thomas Stockman; with his all new TM E4RS4.

Great Job !

Here the original report from Rémi:

Last weekend, no ETS for me, not enough time unfortunately. But I was invited to Lovan RC in Alveringhem (Belgium) for their first official race in their new location, at only one hour of my home, then I could not refuse to participate !

The track layout was perfect, 35x18m, it was a pleasure to drive on it, we could take all the corners quickly with a certain softness, what a great job !

Same as the track layout, the organization was excellent, a race schedule in time, race control without mistakes and a technical control in rules.

For my part I arrived Saturday at 13:00, to make some practices before the first qualification run. Practices were a little bit difficult because of the new carpet, there was not a good grip and it was hard to find a setup with new tires. The first qualification run was same as practices, the car had no more grip and I just tried to finish 5 minutes without make mistakes.

Rémi Callens / TM E4RS4 wins Lovan RC Challenge round 1 in Belgium !

For the last 3 qualification runs on Sunday morning, I decided to change a lot of things. I changed my setup to have the most possible grip (reduce the droop, softer shock springs, long links, etc.), I used very old tires (softer then) with another tire additive, MR33 to CS. At this moment the car was pretty good, more grip, more steering, then I was able to take TQ in the second qualification run in front of Hugo Ragaut, Guillaume Guffroy and the young Liam Van de Wouwer.

The last 2 qualification runs were identical to the previous, I could manage TQ. It was close behind me between Hugo and Guillaume for second place, finally Guillaume obtained the second place for only 2 tenth.

As the grip increased during qualifications, I changed the setup for the finals, the car was a little faster and easier to drive, so I was able to take a good start and keep the first place during all the race. I was able to do the same in the next 2 final runs and win the opening round of the 2017/18 Lovan RC Challenge. Hugo Ragaut finished on second place in front of Thomas Stockman.

Rémi Callens / TM E4RS4 wins Lovan RC Challenge round 1 in Belgium !

I think I had one of the best cars of the weekend, fast and easy to drive. A lot of people who were watching the race said me my car was really smooth and efficient on the track compared to others. We worked hard on it last season and it begins to pay. Now we have to find and share good setups for everyone.

Thanks to all my sponsors, TM, HRC Distribution and PRT Electronic. Next step is the first round of Winter Series in Longwy, here we go !

Overall Results:
1. Rémi Callens – TM E4RS4
2. Hugo Ragaut
3. Thomas Stockman
4. Liam Van de Wouwer
5. Guillaume Guffroy
6. Pieter Saelens
7. Sonny Vandenborre
8. Frederick Carton

We are very happy to welcome Philipp in our Team.

Some words from Lionel Troyon – Team Manager:

I’m extremely satisifed to be able to add Philipp to the team. Philipp is more than a very fast driver, he is an example of fair-play for all RC racer. I know him since years and his natural dedication and sportivity are exactly things a team manager like and hope to find in a team.

With Renato Isler (announced 2 days earlier), I’m very pleased and satisfied to have two top drivers in my own country with the most “swiss” of the cars – as the E4RS4 is co-designed by myself. With Marco Balmer, young and talented drivers, I think I have a nice trio who can well collaborate all together.
