For this second column, only a few days before Nuremberg Toy Fair, I would like to write my feelings about current market and market evolution.
During my life, I’ve been at all points of the RC market; firstly as hobby user, then as private racer, and a few years later as distributor (RMW 1992~1997), then as retailer during 5 years (1997~2002), and currently working as product designer / distributor for HRC Distribution for the tenth consecutive year.
I also come from a family who raced RC before I start, as my cousin was racing 1/8 on road at the end of the 70s.
So, during my almost 30 years in RC (and the last 24 as job), I seen many things changing.
French informative website, 110% RC Nuts, published a full and detailed test of the Team Magic E5, written by Laurent Caritté.

We, at HRC Racing, are proud to introduce our all-new Charge & Drive cables with polarity checking LED.
We are not all pro drivers, and even pro drivers make polarity mistakes ! How many of us already destroyed a ESC by a wrong polarity ? Especially with LiPo batteries with integrated 4mm or 5mm plugs in their hard case.
As we know many RC hobbyist use these hard case LiPos with integrated plug on their RTR vehicules via adapter cables, we decided to create a second line of our very popular “Charge & Drive” cables featuring LEDs for polarity checking.
These cables also features JST balance plugs, to connect LiPo to charger in balance mode.
How it works ?
Connect your LiPo to the Charge & Drive adapter.
If RED LED is lit, you made a reverse polarity connection, then simply switch plus and minus plugs on the LiPo integrated plugs.
If GREEN LED is lid, you made a safe connection, you can now connect the main plug (Tamiya or Traxxas or Dean’s or EC3 or XT90) to your ESC or charger !
These Charge & Drive adapter cables are available now, in both 4mm and 5mm Gold plug range.

Michael will race the Team Magic 1/10 Touring Car during local and national races, as well as some ETS events.
